Background

The Pangborn Trust is dedicated to advancing sensory science.

We support future members of the sensory science community by fostering knowledge, igniting innovations, and driving the field forward through education, research, and collaboration. We are committed to supporting the growth and evolution of the field of Sensory and Consumer Science, by fostering connections between scientists around the world through the biennial Pangborn Symposium.

As part of this mission, we believe it is critical to foster the development of the next generation of scientists, by helping them attend the Pangborn Symposium to share their research, learn cutting edge techniques, and build their professional networks.

Purpose of your donation:

We are seeking charitable donations to support bursaries, awards and events for students attending the biannual Pangborn Symposium. Donations directly fund registration, travel, accommodations, and Pangborn activities.

Donations made between now and the Pangborn Symposium in Merida in 2027 will primarily be used to support student awards and events and will be acknowledged at the meeting. Please consult your tax advisor to see if your donations qualify as a charitable contribution for tax purposes.

Tax Exempt Status:

To help achieve these goals, the Trust is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization (IRS EIN 85-1881864) that can accept tax deductible contributions from both individuals and corporations.

By giving to the Trust you will support (a) student bursaries (travel awards) that will partially or completely cover the cost of attending a Pangborn Symposium for students around the world, and (b) other outreach and operational aspects of the Trust, including but not limited to growing the field of Sensory and Consumer Science beyond Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.
